EPISODE 171
(For the Sake of Love! Endless War in the Evil World)
Original Air Date: 04-27-1996

A flashback of the previous episode is shown, with Nehellenia appearing before Sailor Neptune and Sailor Mars in the forest. Flames appear all around them.
[Title Screen]
Flames surround Sailor Neptune and Sailor Mars, and begin to singe the edges of their skirts. Sailor Neptune performs her Deep Submerge attack in order to put out the flames, and tells Nehellenia that she can't deceive them with that kind of illusion. Sailor Mars, who had definitely been deceived, begins to laugh loudly, pretendeding that she knew it was an illusion all along. "She is great alright! I can't compare my intuition to hers. I wonder if her experience makes the difference," says Sailor Mars out loud.
Sailor Neptune replies, "Well, as you say, I think I do have more experience than you." Sailor Mars, who thought she was thinking to herself rather than speaking, exclaims, "Can you mind read, too?!" Sailor Neptune tells her that she said it out loud, much to Mars's embarrassment.
Queen Nehellenia causes the forest around them to disappear. Nehellenia herself then disappears, but as the senshi are looking for her, her hair wraps around Neptune's ankles and pulls Neptune towards her. Sailor Mars begins her Flame Sniper attack, but cannot complete it because Nehellenia is using Neptune as a shield. Nehellenia attacks Mars with short bursts of black energy, knocking her to the ground. Neptune urges her to simply shoot, and reminds her that they must protect the princess, no matter what.
Sailor Mars thinks about Usagi, who is seen wandering through the snow. Neptune continues telling Mars to shoot, saying that even if she falls, Mars will live to protect the princess. Nehellenia tells her to shut up, and wraps her hair tightly around the woman's waist. Mars is torn, and continues to think about Usagi.
Sailor Mars struggles to her feet and attacks with Flame Sniper, narrowly missing Sailor Neptune. The arrow goes through Nehellenia's stomach, causing her to turn into a Mirror Palais Dolly which shatters - the image of the queen had been an illusion all along. The forest appears around the senshi again, and Neptune staggers towards Mars, telling her that she did a great job, and has wonderful intuition after all.
Sailor Neptune steps into a large puddle of water and collapses into it. Sailor Mars goes to help her friend, but also falls. As the two lie face-down in the water, mirrors appear underneath their bodies, and they become trapped within them.
Queen Nehellnia watches through a mirror, from the safety of her palace. "Stupid fools," she says, "to challenge me to a fight in my nightmare is nothing but a waste." The mirror through which she is watching everything flashes, and Usagi is seen wandering through the snow.
Usagi is cold, but continues forward. She stumbles and falls to the ground, but is determined to keep going for Mamoru. She struggles to her knees.
Nehellenia sits on her throne, with Mamoru at her side. "Look prince," she tells him, "your princess is coming to look for you." Mamoru's eye flashes with a golden light. Nehellenia looks back to the mirror and can see that Usagi has risen to her feet again. "I'm sure you're cold," she says to Usagi, "both your freezing body and heart. You can give up any time if it's hard for you. Here!" Beautiful flowers appear all around Usagi, and the snow suddenly stops...
The scene changes to show Sailor Pluto and Sailor Venus running through the ruins of a building, being chased by Mirror Palais Dolly. Finally, they find themselves surrounded. A long swinging bridge crossing a deep canyon appears behind them. Sailor Pluto tells Venus to cross the bridge, but then to drop it and forget about her. "If both of us are here," she says, "who will save our princess?" Sailor Pluto rushes forward to attack the Mirror Palais Dolly, and Venus cautiously tries to cross the bridge.
Usagi is shown standing the field of flowers, asking where Mamoru is. "Looking for someone?" asks a voice. She looks down at a dandelion at her feet, which asks her if she is looking for someone. She is shocked, but bends down to tell the flower that she is looking for her precious love. She asks if he came this way. Faces appear on the other flowers, and a lily asks, "Your precious love? What is more precious than yourself?" A red tulip tells her that she doesn't have to look for him at all - that he should come to see her.
"No," Usagi tells the flowers, "Mamoru is under Nehellenia's curse!" The flowers begin to cower and tremble, telling her that that's terrible. She asks them if they know Nehellenia, and the flowers tell her that they don't know her, but that she sounds scary. The dandelion says to Usagi, "You want to forget! Otherwise, you'll be wildly trampled!"
Usagi stands up and says that she has to go. When the flowers ask where she is going, she seems to have forgotten. The dandelion asks, "Who is he?" Usagi can't remember. The flowers continue asking where she is going, and who he is, but she can't remember anything. They say, "Let's play in this flower garden! Forget all the nasty things!" They laugh as Usagi falls to her knees, her eyes glazing over as she smiles.
[Commercial Break]
Sailor Venus cautiously makes her away across the bridge, but suddenly falls through a broken piece of wood. She struggles to make her way back up as the bridge's rope begins to unravel. She looks back at Sailor Pluto, who is battling the Mirror Palais Dolly. Sailor Pluto performs her Dead Scream attack on the Mirror Palais Dolly, but they come back and begin to attack her. Sailor Venus looks on in horror, and finally resolves to run back across the bridge and help her friend.
She performs her Venus Love and Beauty Shock attack on the Mirror Palais Dolly, and grabs Pluto's hand. They run across the shaky bridge as the Mirror Palais Dolly chase them. Suddenly, the bridge breaks, and the Mirror Palais Dolly fall into the canyon. Sailor Venus and Pluto begin to fall, but Venus saves them by performing her Love Me Chain attack and wrapping the chain around the ledge of the cliff. The two are left hanging by the chain.
Sailor Venus laughs and says, "All's well that ends well," but Sailor Pluto chides her for coming back to save her. Sailor Venus says that she couldn't leave her fried, and says, "This is an order from the leader! Get together and save the princess!" The two begin to laugh.
As Sailor Pluto and Venus laugh, they hear Nehellenia laughing as well. They look up in horror to see that Nehellenia is holding the end of the chain. Suddenly, the queen lets go, and both senshi fall into mirrors which trap them, unconscious. At the top of the ledge, Nehellenia's figure transforms into a Mirror Palais Dolly.
Usagi is shown sitting in the field of flowers. Nehellenia stands before her, saying that even the White Moon princess cannot escape her nightmare. She will not keep it so comfortable, though... she will hurt Sailor Moon to let her know how much she was humiliated.
Just as Nehellenia is about to slap Usagi, Sailor Jupiter grabs her arm. She throws Nehellenia into the air and shakes Usagi, trying to awaken her. "A waste of time," says Nehellenia, "that girl will never wake up from her dream!" She tells Jupiter that if Usagi doesn't like her dream, she'll wake up by herself. She says that Usagi gave up everything, and is now indulged in her dream. "You're lying," says Sailor Jupiter, "you've locked Usagi in a nightmare!" Jupiter runs to attack Nehellenia but fails, falling into the flowers. She performs Jupiter Oak Evolution, but flowers swirl around Nehellenia, and nothing happens.
All of the trapped senshi are shown in mirrors in their illusory worlds. "Haven't you heard?" asks Nehellenia, "It was I who controlled the kingdom using dark energy." Ruins begin to appear all around them. "Although I was sealed by the White Moon Princess when I approached the bright world, in the darkness, I am without equal!" She attacks Jupiter and tells her that even if all of the senshi attacked, they could not defeat her.
"Finally, all I have to do is put out the White Moonlight!" Sailor Jupiter gasps and looks at Usagi, as Nehellenia smiles and prepares to attack the brainwashed girl. Sailor Jupiter stands and takes the attack for her friend, who still does not realize what is going on around her. Nehellenia asks, "Is she worth being protected? A girl who forgot everything and indulged in her dreams?"
Sailor Jupiter says to Nehellenia, "Can't you see? Even though Usagi is rash and a careless crybaby, she cheers up everyone anytime, like the soft moonlight. And she always takes actions for others even by sacrificing herself." Queen Nehellenia thinks back to the end of the SuperS season, and to Super Sailor Moon sacrificing herself to save ChibiUsa. "Everyone likes Usagi," says Jupiter, "Don't you have any friends like that?"
Queen Nehellenia screams "Shut up!" repeatedly, while attacking Jupiter with bursts of dark energy. Jupiter holds Usagi as she is attacked, and eventually falls to the ground, her rose earring falling beside her. "Friends?" says Nehellenia, "Don't make me laugh. I don't need them! I'll seal you off! Just like the others!" As Jupiter reaches out to Usagi, a mirror appears behind her, locking her inside.
Sailor Jupiter's earring lies on the ground beside the mirror, glimmering. Usagi, deep in a trance, looks down at the earring and remembers a red rose. The rose reminds her Tuxedo Kamen, and she grabs the earring, coming out of the trance. She turns to face Nehellenia, and the illusion with the flowers shatters around them. The two are left standing amongst the ruins of a building. "You awoke from my nightmare," says Nehellenia, "but can you reach my palace and your beloved prince?"
Usagi runs towards a staircase to reach Nehellenia, but the stairs become covered with sharp briars. The thorns tear at her as she struggles to make her way up the staircase. Nehellenia simply laughs at her and calls her a helpless fool, saying, "Get hurt by those thorns and die suffering from it! Your bloody figure is the very entertainment I seek!"
Suddenly, a voice calls out from behind her. She turns to see Super Sailor ChibiMoon and Sailor Saturn standing in her palace. "How terrible you are," says Super Sailor ChibiMoon, "separating a loving couple and making them suffer! I won't forgive you!" Sailor Saturn spins her glaive in the air and stops it at Nehellenia's throat, demanding that she release the prince and princess.
