In the Dark Kingdom's lair, Queen Beryl tells Zoisite and Kunzite that if they do not collect all seven Nijizuishou, they will not be able to obtain the Maboroshi no Ginzuishou. Although they have collected one, another one was taken by Tuxedo Kamen. Zoisite apologizes, and Kunzite reassures Queen Beryl that when Tuxedo Kamen tries to get the other Nijizuishou, he will be attacked, and they will be able to retrieve the Nijizuishou that they lost to him.

Ami walks by a construction site where builders are working, absentmindedly reading a math book. Suddenly, Ryou Urawa calls out to her. She turns to greet him, and notices that something is wrong. He looks up to where the workers are lifting a steel beam, when the beam falls and lands right next to where Ami is standing. She is quite shocked, and when she turns around, she sees that Urawa has disappeared.

At Juuban Junior High School, the results of the midterm exam have been posted, and the students rush to see their scores. Usagi has scored a 586, while Makoto has scored a 601 - both considerably low scores. Meanwhile, Ryou Urawa has scored a 900, beating Ami's score of 899 by just one point. Ami's response to the score is that she feels that she doesn't study enough. Makoto notes that the boy with the high score is in Ami's class, and Ami tells her that he just transferred to the school a few days before. Just then, Urawa walks by the girls and Ami says hello. He seems very nervous, and quickly runs away.

Urawa goes to the roof of the building alone, where he looks at a newspaper clipping he has saved (dated August 22, 1992) from when Ami was ranked number one in the nation on the summer mock test. He thinks back to sitting near Ami while taking a test. As he was furiously erasing an answer, his eraser slipped out of his hand and bounced towards her. She sweetly picked it up and gave it back to him, telling him to relax a little more and wishing him luck.

Usagi sneaks up behind Urawa and startles him by suddenly announcing, "So you do like Ami!" She asks if he has had feelings for Ami for a long time, but he says that he has studied hard because he wanted to be like Ami. He says that he "just happened to be right about what would be on the tests," and that Ami is far more gifted than he is. He looks down into the courtyard and sees Ami, Makoto, and two other classmates bouncing a ball around. Usagi says, "I understand! Usagi will lend you a helping hand! Just leave it to me!" As she is leaving, he warns her to be careful around water today. Just at that moment, a worker from overhead throws a bucket of water on her by accident. She begins to cry.

Later in the evening, Rei and Mamoru are on a date. Mamoru is distracted by his thoughts. He is regaining some of his memory bit by bit, but much of his past is still unknown. He wonders if he has any choice but to become Tuxedo Kamen and try to obtain the Maboroshi no Ginzuishou. Rei gets his attention and says that he has been acting strange lately, but he says that is nothing.

The couple walks past a small cafe called Parlor Bear. Inside the cafe, Usagi and Urawa sit a booth, having ice cream sodas together. She gives Urawa an envelope containing a picture of Ami eating a hamburger. She says, "It's not great, but isn't it so much better than a newspaper clipping? And she looks nice with that sort of silly look on her face."

Luna, who is sitting behind Usagi in the booth, looks down into Usagi's bag and notices that the Moon Stick is responding. She wonders if Urawa could be a Nijizuishou carrier. Meanwhile, Urawa tells Usagi that he will treasure the photo forever. Usagi asks when he is going to tell Ami that he likes her. He says that when he learned he was transferring to Juuban Junior High School, he made up his mind... if he could do better on tests than her, he would tell her how he feels. Usagi says that when Ami leaves cram school that night, she will bring Ami to Urawa, so he should be ready! She quickly leaves without paying for her drink. Urawa looks at his picture of Ami.

Meanwhile, in the Dark Kingdom's lair, Zoisite watches him, noting that he is one of the Nijizuishou carriers.

Usagi goes to the OK Cram School and waits outside until Ami walks out. Luna is trying to tell her something, but she is distracted, and leaves with Ami before Luna can tell her what has been on her mind.

As Urawa is leaving the cafe, Zoisite suddenly appears. Urawa says, "So, you're Zoisite?" Zoisite is surprised by this response, and demands to know how the boy knows his name. Urawa says that since he was a child, he has been able to predict the future. His power has been becoming stronger lately, and it has allowed him to figure out what he is... something he says that he never wanted to know about. Zoisite laughs and says, "That simplifies things. Now, turn into one of the greatest youma and kneel before me." Urawa angrily refuses, saying he would rather die than become a "pawn for the devil."

Zoisite sends a burst of energy towards him that knocks him to the ground. He tells Urawa to "be a good boy and just surrender," then lifts up the Kurozuishou, which begins to glow and surround Urawa with energy. Just then, Usagi, Ami, and Luna walk around the corner. They recognize what is happening, and quickly transform into Sailor Senshi.

[Commercial Break]

Just as Urawa's crystal is about to be extracted, Sailor Moon and Sailor Mercury interrupt Zoisite, who asks if they are planning to stop him. Sailor Mercury takes Urawa to a safe place, while Sailor Moon stands in Zoisite's way. Zoisite distracts Sailor Moon and quickly disappears.

Sailor Mercury takes the barely conscious Urawa to a nearby park where she has him lie down on a bench. She soaks a cloth in a small pond and places it on his head. He says, "Thank you for saving me, Mizuno-sama" before passing out. She is quite shocked that he knows her name.

Meanwhile, Sailor Moon wonders where Sailor Mercury went. Luna says that if she uses the Moon Stick, it will definitely tell her where both Urawa and Ami are. Sailor Moon is surprised to find out that Urawa is a Nijizuishou carrier. Luna reminds her that if she doesn't hurry, Ami will be in danger.

Urawa lies on the bench, he envisions himself turning into a youma and attacking Sailor Mercury. As he dreams, Sailor Mercury holds the wet cloth to his forehead, and soon finds the photograph of herself that Usagi gave Urawa. She quickly places it back in his pocket before he awakens. When he wakes up, he tells her that he has the power to predict the future, which is what he was dreaming about. He admits that it was the reason he was able to get a perfect score on the exam.

He tells Sailor Mercury that he has idolized her for a long time now, but he knows that they are fated to fight against each other. She giggles and says that everything he has said is off the mark, denying that she is Ami Mizuno. He dejectedly says that if she says so, he will leave it at that, but if he turns into a youma, not to hesitate to kill him. She stands up and tells him that if he gives up, everything will happen just as he thinks it will... but if he believes in himself, he will be able to create any future for himself.

Suddenly, Zoisite appears above the water of the nearby pond, mocking their affection. The Kurozuishou begins to glow, causing the yellow Nijizuishou to be extracted from Ryou. He quickly transforms into the youma Bunbo, and Zoisite collects the yellow crystal. Zoisite instructs the youma to attack Sailor Mercury, but Ami's voice echos from deep within. Instead of attacking her, Bunbo attacks Zoisite instead, who drops the Nijizuishou directly into Sailor Mercury's open hands. As they are falling into the water, Zoisite realizes that the youma still has the heart of a human.

Zoisite rises above the pond once again, while Bunbo lies in the water below. He then uses the power of the Kurozuishou to regain control over the youma, instructing him to attack Sailor Mercury and get the Nijizuishou back from her.

Sailor Moon suddenly appears and lectures Zoisite about controlling an innocent boy's mind against his will. Zoisite points out that Bunbo is actually chasing after Sailor Mercury. Sailor Moon attempts to use Moon Healing Escalation to turn Bunbo back into his human form, but he is too strong and it fails. He begins chasing the senshi, shooting large razor blades at them. Luna tells Sailor Moon that in order to transform him, she will have to weaken the youma's energy first.

He blocks the senshi's path with a fallen tree branch, and ultimately sends more razor blades shooting through the air to cause a tree behind the girls to fall down. Sailor Mercury thinks about what Urawa said earlier, about killing him if he turns into a youma, but she resolves to help him become human again.

Sailor Mars and Sailor Jupiter suddenly appear and attack with their Fire Soul and Supreme Thunder attacks. They manage to destroy Bunbo's primary weapons: two pairs of shears which were attached to his arms. Sailor Mercury then uses Sabão Spray to confuse Bunbo, while Sailor Moon uses Moon Tiara Action to weaken him.

One Bunbo is weakened, Sailor Moon uses Moon Healing Escalation to cause him to transform back into his human form as Urawa. Zoisite is visibly angered, and quickly disappears. Sailor Mercury rushes to Urawa's side, cradling him in her arms. Tuxedo Kamen quietly looks on, deciding not to interfere for the time being.

Later, the girls learn that Urawa is transferring to another school. They see him off at the train station, where he tell them that he must go wherever his father's work takes him, so his move can't be helped.

He returns the photo that Usagi gave him to Ami, and tells her that when he gets a better score than her with his own abilities, he will come back for the picture. She gives him a better picture of herself to take with him. As he boards the train and leaves, she thinks to herself that Ryou can come and see her any time... without having to worry about grades.
