Usagi steps out of the bath and dries off. She then cautiously steps on a bathroom scale to weigh herself. Suddenly, a scream is heard throughout the house. The entire Tsukino family rushes in to find Usagi sitting on the floor crying that she has gained weight, and that she is fat.

The Tsukino family is then shown sitting at the kitchen table. Usagi's parents tell her that it's healthy to be a bit chubby when you're young, but after talking for a while, they finally tell her that it may be because she doesn't exercise, and eats a lot instead of studying. Usagi begins to cry.

In Usagi's room, Luna tells the girl that crying won't help... she'll just have to eat less, and get some exercise. All the while, Luna is drawing a picture. Usagi asks what it is, and Luna holds it up with an evil grin... it is a picture of a very overweight Usagi, and Luna says that it is what she will look like in six months!

At school the next day, Usagi doesn't eat any lunch, but just looks on as Naru eats instead. Later on, Usagi sits outside with a group of friends discussing weight loss. One girl suggests swimming, but Naru says that Usagi can't swim. Another girl says that she's tried fasting and eating just pineapple, but the effect doesn't last that long. The first girl then says that losing weight by falling in love would be the ideal diet.

Naru tells Usagi that Haruna-sensei has recently become very thin. Just then, Haruna-sensei walks by and says hello to everyone. Usagi says that she doesn't look that much thinner, but Umino suddenly pops up and says that it's difficult to tell when she's wearing normal clothing. He holds up two pictures of Haruna-sensei in workout attire, one showing her before working out, and the other showing her just two days later, after working out. Naru asks how he got the pictures, but he blushes and says that it's top secret. Usagi and Naru continue pressing him, but he runs away!

Usagi finally catches up with Umino, and he tells her that he followed Haruna-sensei and secretly took the pictures with his camera. She asks where the gym is located.

Umino leads Usagi, Naru, and two of their friends to a gym called Shapely, where Haruna-sensei works out. The video screen in front of the gym features the idol Rie Gotou, dancing in workout clothing. The idol on the screen says, "One kilogram a day, five kilograms in two days! If you go for three days, you, too, will be beautiful! Come on everyone, time to shape up! Right now at Gym Shapely, we're having free introductory memberships!" The four girls rush in to take advantage of the free memberships.

Meanwhile, Jadeite looks on, laughing at them from the shadows in an upstairs window.

The four girls are shown in a hallway dressed in their gym clothes. Jadeite, dressed as a fitness instructor, steps out to greet the girls. They all find him very attractive, and stumble over their words. He shows them to the gym, and they separate and begin working out in various ways. Each girl has her own personal trainer. When Jadeite sees Naru resting, he scolds her and says that if she rests, she will not become beautiful. Naru became very determined!

Finally, Jadeite stops everyone and tells them that they've done a great job. He then tells Naru and the two friends that he will lead them to the Shape Rays. Meanwhile, Usagi is resting in the Bubble Bath Room, lamenting that it is hard to lose weight, and that she's hungry.

Jadeite takes the other girls to the Shape Rays and instructs them to step into large pods. He tells them that if they are exposed to the Shape Ray for five minutes, the chubby girl will lose ten kilograms, and the other, thinner girls can lose three kilograms immediately. Excited about the prospect of losing a lot of weight, they step in.

While the girls are being exposed to the Shape Ray, Jadeite speaks with Queen Beryl. He reports to her that the energy of young humans is steadily being collected, and tells her that stupid young women will do anything to lose weight. The two villains decide that the plan will definitely succeed.

When the three girls step out of the Shape Ray pods, they are extremely tired. Jadeite tells them that they have grown unbelievably more beautiful, making them very happy. He tells them that if they want to become even more beautiful, they should return on the following day, to which they all agree.

Usagi dejectedly walks home, thinking that her friends left her at the gym without telling her. She laments how hungry she is, and a boy walks by with a dumpling. She stares at the dumpling and scares the little boy, causing him to run away. She continues walking, and sees a poster of Sailor V. She says that it must be nice to be Sailor V, who doesn't have to go on a diet. Usagi drops her school bag and is just about to fall when Motoki catches her. She tells her that she isn't feeling well, and he asks if she wants to go to a hospital. "More like a restaurant," comes the reply. She tells Motoki that she hasn't eaten anything since yesterday, and passes out.

Usagi dreams about being held in Motoki's arms, and he is going to heal her with the power of his love. Suddenly, she wakes up inside the Crown Game Center as Motoki puts some soup in her mouth. He asks why she hasn't eaten since yesterday, and she tells him that she wanted to go on a diet. He laughs and says that she doesn't need a diet - that she should gain weight instead!! he finds chubby girls more attractive than very thin girls. Usagi cheers, and is then shown walking home munching on a dumpling.

Mamoru suddenly appars on the sidewalk. He says to her, "You eat a lot. Eating your friends, I see... Dumpling head eating dumplings." She tells him to leave her alone, but he says that if she continues eating so much, she'll really turn into a dumpling. She throws the dumpling at him, but he catches it and begins to eat it. "At least you won't get too fat now that you ate one less."

As Mamoru walks away, Luna appears behing Usagi. She says, "He's right, you know. Eat one, gain two kilograms. Eat two, gain five kilograms. Eat three and you're..." Luna's drawing of Usagi is then shown. In the park, Usagi sits down to talk with Luna. She tells the cat that Motoki likes chubby girls, but Luna says that she is misunderstanding what he said. She says, "He said he liked chubby girls; he didn't say he liked fat ones."

Luna tries to tell Usagi that there is something wrong with Haruna-sensei - that she's suddently become very thing. Usagi doesn't pay attention, however, because she is panicking over having eating six dumplings. She counts to six and imagines herself getting fatter and fatter. Luna continues telling Usagi that something is wrong with the girls who go to Gym Shapely. Usagi decides that the gym is the only thing that will prevent her from gaining weight, and runs back to it. Luna tries to tell her that it may be a base for villains, but Usagi is not listening.

At the gym, Usagi frantically works out on a bike, chanting, "Thin, thin, thin..." Luna watches from a window, and suddenly sees a very drained-looking Haruna-sensei. Luna sneaks in and follows the teacher down some stairs. She then sees Haruna-sensei in the Shape Rays, while Jadeite looks on saying, "This woman's energy is almost completely gone. We'll get the last of it today. After that, she'll grow weak and die."

Luna runs to Usagi and pushes her off the workout bike. She manages to get Usagi to follow her, and then tries to tells her that Haruna-sensei is going to die. Usagi isn't listening, so Luna attacks her and sits on top of her stomach. The cat extends her claws and bares her fangs, threatening Usagi so that she will calm down and listen. Luna tells her that if they don't hurry, Haruna-sensei will die. She instructs Usagi to transform into Sailor Moon, which she does.

Haruna-sensei is shown gasping underneath the Shape Ray. Jadeite looks on, chuckling to himself. Sailor Moon suddenly appears behind him and says, "Take Haruna-sensei out of there! I won't forgive the evil souls that sabotage a girl's dream to lose weight!" She then gives her standard speech. Jadeite tells three large fitness instructors to attack Sailor Moon. They surround her as Jadeite disappears. Luna tells Sailor Moon that the villains are being controlled by the rings on their heads.

Sailor Moon begins to run, but Luna tells her that if she fights, she will lose weight. Excited by the prospect of losing weight, Sailor Moon turns and physically attacks the villains. She performs Moon Tiara Action and destroys the rings that are controlling them. The fitness instructors wake up confused about where they are, while Sailor Moon says, "Phew! Maybe I lost one kilogram."

Meanwhile, Jadeite stands before Queen Beryl. The queen tells him that she is impressed with how much energy he has gathered, and that she will consider this energy-collecting attempt to be half-successful. Jadeite tells her that he is determined to destroy Sailor Moon.

Back at the Tsukino household, Usagi rests in a warm bath. Ikuko stands outside of the door and tells Usagi that she has a towel for her. She asks her daughter if Haruna-sensei is feeling better, and Usagi replies that she was out for a week, but is now back at school. She steps away and Shingo says, "Mom, don't go on any weird diets." She agrees that she won't, and that Usagi should watch out as well. Suddenly, they hear Usagi screaming, "I'm fat! I'm fat again! I exercised so much... why?!"
