The episode opens showing a cityscape, with several girls running, in a hurry. They arrive at an old fortune teller's booth. The fortune teller uses straws to tell the girls their fortune. There is a long line with dozens of girls waiting to have their fortunes told. One girl says that she hears this place is very good... another says that it has been on television a few times. Jadeite, in disguise, stands at the back of the line. More girls run up, and Jadeite walks away saying, "Foolish humans."

Back at the Dark Kingdom's lair, Queen Beryl scolds her minions, asking why the Ginzuishou hasn't been found. She tells them they must hurry, because their "great ruler" is waiting for a lot of energy. Her minions reply, "leave it to us." Jadeite suddenly appears, and Queen Beryl tells him that because the Ginzuishou hasn't been found, she wants human energy instead. He says that it has already been taken care of.

At Usagi's house, Luna tries to wake Usagi up. She jumps on Usagi's face and says, "You won't be able to succeed at our mission like that." Usagi wakes up late and asks Luna why she didn't wake her up earlier. She rushes out the door as fast as she can. Luna sighs.

At Juuban Junior High School, Haruna Sakurada is taking roll. Usagi tries to sneak in, but Umino yells, "Good morning, Usagi!!" Haruna-sensei catches her sneaking in, and tells her to stand in the hallway. Usagi stands outside with Umino. She asks him why he's outside with her, but he blushes and says that it's hard to explain. She tells him that he's weird.

Later, outside, Umino leans against a tree. Naru runs up to him and asks him what he wanted to talk to her about. He says that he wants to go on a date with Usagi, even trade diaries and talk to her parents about the future. Naru laughs at him and tells him that it will never happen, much to his dismay. She says that it won't work if he just comes out and asks her. He asks, "So I should attack her from behind?" Naru tells him to go to a fortune teller to ask for her ideas.

Umino pulls a game out of his pocket to show Naru. He says that it is a fortune telling game based on his ideas. According to the game, Usagi and Umino are supposed to be married. The game screen shows the two being married and says, "The Happy Couple." Naru yells at him that she means to go to a real fortune teller. She tells him about a new fortune telling house that recently opened, and is supposed to be very good. She suggests that Umino go there.

Later, Usagi is running home from school. She passes the old fortune teller from earlier in the episode, but no one is at his booth. She asks him what happened, since there is usually such a long line. He laughs and points out the new fortune telling house that has just opened across the street. Usagi says that it is awfully gaudy. She asks if it is the same kind of fortune telling he does. He says that it is, but that everyone likes new things.

Usagi holds out her hand and asks him to read her palm. He says thank you, and pulls out a magnifying glass to inspect her palm. He tells her that there is a man who likes her right now, and it is someone she sees all the time. Behind her, Umino is seen walking into the new fortune telling house.

Usagi walks home, thinking of who likes her. She runs to the Crown Game Center and sees that Motoki is not there. She decides to wait, and he suddenly shows up. "Perfect timing; I'm about to start work," he says. He tells her that the new Sailor V game just came in, so she goes in to try it. She plays, but loses. Motoki appears and says, "It's hard, isn't it?" He sits down to show her how to play more effectively. Her heart races, and she thinks about how happy Motoki makes her.

Usagi looks over and sees Luna. "Luna, what are you doing here?" she asks. Motoki says, "Oh, this cat's name is Luna? She's been around here a lot lately. I wonder if she's a stray." Luna growls and bites Usagi's wrist. "Ok, I'm going!" she says. She says goodbye to Motoki, and says she'll return soon. He says, "I feel good every time I see your face." Usagi blushes and leaves the arcade.

Outside, she yells at Luna, saying, "We were having a good time!" Luna asks if it's ok for her to stop on her way home. Usagi says, "Well, it's not a good thing." Luna reminds her about her mission, and Usagi runs off to talk to the old fortune teller about Motoki. Unfortunately, when she arrives at the fortune teller's booth, he is gone.

Usagi looks at the new fortune telling house across the street. She thinks that she should probably wait and ask the old man, but she wants to know right now. Luna asks what she is doing, but Usagi won't tell her. Usagi decides to tell her own fortune. She takes off her shoe... "if it lands right side up, I'll ask the old man. If it's upside down, I'll go to the House of Fortune." She flips her shoe into the air, and it lands on Mamoru's head.

Mamoru turns around holding her shoe and angrily says, "That hurts, Odango Atama." She yells at him, "Is that all you can say?" He says, "You'll never have a boyfriend if you don't act more ladylike." She grabs her shoe, and he walks away. She sticks her tongue out him and says, "My good mood is all gone." She puts her shoe on and storms away.

Inside the House of Fortune, it is very quiet. Several people stand in a room, silent, with incense floating around them. Behind a curtain, Umino sits at a table where a woman is reading tarot cards. She folds her hands and the cards stand up, then fall over again. She tells Umino to look into her eyes. He becomes hypnotized by her. A card floats off the table as she tells him that he is a wonderful servant of evil, and he can do anything he desires. He repeats that he will do anything he desires. The card floats into his jacket while Umino remains oblivious. Balm laughs, happy that she will soon be able to collect human energy.

[Commercial Break]

Usagi walks down the street. Suddenly, her father calls out to her. He is out shopping, saying, "I got home early for a change and your mom got me." She tells him that he is sweet. He says that he leaves all the housework to her mother, so shopping is the least he can do. Usagi suddenly thinks of Motoki, deciding that he will one day be like her father. "By the way Usagi," he says, "what are you doing out until now? It's not good to be hanging out after school." She apologizes and quickly follows him.

Luna follows, but Usagi's father asks, "Usagi, what's with the cat? It seems like it's following us." Usagi says that it is her friend, and her father tells her that she has strange friends.

The next day at school, Naru asks Usagi if Umino said anything to her. She says that Umino likes Usagi, but is too shy to ask her out. Just then, Umino shows up and asks Usagi on a date. He is dressed in a business suit, and casually leans on a locker. Naru says that it's not good to come to school dressed like that. He says, "Who cares? Usagi, lets go on a date today." The girls are shocked that he's become so brave all of a sudden.

Haruna-sensei appears and scolds Umino for his outfit. He laughs and begins eating. She asks what he is thinkig. He chuckles and walks past her... flipping up her skirt to expose her underwear! "Thinking this," he says, laughing. Haruna-sensei begins crying, "No one will marry me now!"

In the classroom, Umino loudly laughs at a comic book. Haruna-sensei turns from the board and says, "That's enough!" She walks towards him, but is tripping in the aisle. She looks behind her to see that Yuuji Kimura has tripped her. One of the evil tarot cards can be seen inside his jacket. He says, "Haruna-sensei, you are supposed to walk quietly in the classroom." Umino continues laughing loudly.

Outside school, Naru tells Usagi that both Umino and Yuuji went to the House of Fortune. The two hear a crash behind them. A male teacher opens a window and yells, "Hey, what do you think you're doing?" Below the window, Umino and several boys throw rocks at the window and begin laughing. Evil tarot cards are inside all of their jackets.

The woman from the House of Fortune, who is really the youma Balm, stands outside the school holding up a tarot card. Energy swirls towards the card and she laughs. "Keep on making trouble." Jadeite is collecting the "energy of the rebellious youth."

Usagi and Naru run towards the boys. Umino grabs Usagi and asks her if she wants to kiss. He leans towards her and she begins to cry, saying, "I don't like you when you're like this!" Umino, Naru, and all the boys cover their ears in pain as Usagi cries, "I hate you, I hate you, I hate you!" Umino and the boys leave. Luna looks on from the bushes, sensing some evil energy. Usagi is still crying, but Naru tells her that it's ok. She quickly stops crying and says that she feels better.

On the way home, Usagi thinks about Umino and the other boys. Luna says that something evil is causing all of the incidents. Usagi says that it seems that the boys are being controlled, and that the House of Fortune seems suspicious. Luna tells her that she has done a good job figuring everything out. Usagi says, "Give me a new item as a reward!" Luna only replies, "In your dreams." Usagi says that she is kind of scared to fight again.

Usagi and Luna go to the House of Fortune, and Luna tells Usagi to transform into Sailor Moon. "Do I have to?" she asks. "You have to," Luna tells her. Usagi can't remember what to say, but Luna reminds her. She then transforms into Sailor Moon.

Inside the House of Fortune, Balm is standing in front of several boys, who are in a trance. She tells them that they have done a good job, and that now she will have them wreak havoc in town. The cards inside their jackets glow, and they smile.

Sailor Moon suddenly calls out, "What worse than old men being envious of youth and popularity are those that think nothing of people's feelings." Sailor Moon introduces herself to a very confused Balm. Balm shuffles her cards and throws them at Sailor Moon. They fly into the wall. Balm transforms from a human into an ugly monster with green skin. She tells the possessed boys to get Sailor Moon. The cards in their jackets glow, and their skin turns green. They march towards Sailor Moon like zombies, but she runs away.

Soon, the boys have backed Sailor Moon into a corner. Suddenly, a red rose flies through the air and hits Balm. The possessed boys stop in their tracks, frozen. Sailor Moon waves her hand in front of them to no avail. Balm is angry... another intruder! She asks who is there.

Sailor Moon smiles and exclaims, "Tuxedo Kamen!" He says, "Don't ever give up, no matter how hard it is." She says, "okay!" and he leaves. She thanks him, and Balm flies towards her. The ends of Balm's hair turn into deadly claws that sink into the floor just behind Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon says, "That would have hurt!" Luna reminds Sailor Moon to use her tiara as Balm flies towards her once again, barely missing.

Sailor Moon attacks Balm with "Moon Tiara Action," killing the youma instantly. Meanwhile, the energy that Jadeite is collecting suddenly stops. "Balm," he says, "You failed."

At the House of Fortune, the tarot cards disappear from the young boys' jackets. They snap out of their trance, confused, just in time to see Sailor Moon wave goodbye and run away with Luna.

The next day, Umino is talking to Naru. Shocked, he asks, "WHAT? I flipped Haruna-sensei's skirt?" He is extremely embarrassed. Naru tells him that he also tried to kiss Usagi, and that he broke the window of a teacher's office. He walks away, saying that all that is left for him is misery.

Suddenly, Usagi appears and says good morning. He begins to explain about yesterday, but Usagi tells him that it's ok. He says, "You're right! I shouldn't worry about! You're ok when you make bad grades on your tests after all! I need to be more like you!" Usagi says, "He doesn't know the trouble I go through!" Just then, Usagi hears the school bell ringing. She begins to run to school, but trips over a crack in the sidewalk and falls.
