Wiseman is the 'head villain' from Sailor Moon R. He first appears in episode 68. He is actually
the Death Phantom, an exile from Earth. He uses the
Black Moon Clan in order to seek revenge and destroy the Earth. He appears to the people of the
Black Moon Clan and gives them instructions, seemingly guiding them. He is trusted by Prince
Demand, but not by Saphir or Esmeraude. Esmeraude hopes to manipulate Wiseman in order to get
what she wants, but when he offers her her a black crown to become queen of the Black Moon Clan,
she realizes she has been tricked. She is transformed into a dragon which is defeated by the
senshi. Saphir is convinced that Wiseman is only using his brother, Prince Demand, and spies
on him. Wiseman reveals that all of the world will soon be enveloped in darkness, that the
Death Phantom will arise, and that the members of the Black Moon Clan are only pawns to him,
and will all die. Saphir is discovered by Wiseman, and soon finds out that the Death Phantom is
a godlike figure who will wipe out all life in the world and bring about silence. Saphir tries
to convince his brother that he is being deceived by Wiseman, but Prince Demand will not believe
him. Saphir is eventually killed by Wiseman. Prince Demand is only convinced of Wiseman's
deceit when Salor Moon confronts him. He is killed by Wiseman while trying to protect Sailor
Moon. Soon, Wiseman's hold over Black lady is broken as well, but it is revealed that it is
already too late - the Black Gate has already opened. He attacks, and reveals himself as Death
Phantom. In episode 88, Princess Serenity (Small Lady - ChibiUa) and Neo-Queen Serenity (Usagi)
destroy Wiseman using the two ginzuishou. Wiseman's seiyuu is Eiji Maruyama.
Wiseman is the head of the Black Moon Clan. He is actually Death Phantom. After years of peace
on Earth, a human, the Death Phantom, turns Crystal Tokyo into a city of crime and murder.
Neo-Queen Serenity defeats him, but she is unable to kill him because of his power, and because
she no longer has the power as a senshi. So instead of killing him, she exiles him to Nemesis,
where he cannot escape. He eventually merged with the planet, becoming one with it. He created
another body, Wiseman, and used this form to appear to the Black Moon Clan. He appeals to their
hatred of the Moon Kingdom by telling them that if they go to the planet Nemesis, they will have
unlimited power. He gives them the special powers of Death Hands (long, shadowy hands given to
Saphir and Esmeraude) and the third eyes (given to Prince Demand). He manipulates the members of
the Clan in order to achieve his own goals. Esmeraude, Rubeus, and Saphir do not initially trust
him because he appeared to them so suddenly - but because of Prince Demand's belief in him, and
the fact that they were given great power by him, they follow him. In act 20, Wiseman causes
ChibiUsa to become lost in space/time. She wanders around, lost, and he calls out to her. She
takes his hand and is transformed into Black Lady. Wiseman then has control of the future
ginzuishou. Later, Wiseman kills Rubeus after Rubeus tries to escape during the Black Crystal
Reactor's meltdown. He brings Saphir and Prince Demand to his underground castle. Demand wants
to know what Wiseman's true motives are, but Wiseman only puts the two back under his command.
He then sends Black Lady to retrieve the ginzuishou of the past and capture Neo-Queen Serenity
and Sailor Moon, as they are the only ones who can use the two ginzuishou. He tells Black Lady
to use the ginzuishou even if it destroys the Earth, since he already has it. This angers Prince
Demand, who realizes that he has been tricked by Wiseman. The prince shoots Wiseman, and his
cloak falls away to reveal only a skeleton - it is at this point that Wiseman reveals his true
form, as Nemesis/the Death Phantom. In act 23, Wiseman disappears, drawing Sailor Moon with him.
Tuxedo Kamen follows. Death Phantom reveals his plan to absorb the ginzuishou, transform its
energy into negative energy, and use that negative energy to take over the galaxy. Sailor Chibi
Moon appears, however, and she and Sailor Moon use the ginzuishou from both the future and the
past to destroy the Death Phantom with a dual Moon Princess Halation attack.
