click for larger version Otakura is the name of the guardian spirit that lived under the storehouse next to the Hammer Price Shrine. Makoto Hanmatsuura, the pawnshop's owner, was told when he was a child that if the storehouse was ever destroyed, the spirit would disappear. Land developers appear and want Makoto's property, so they knock over the ancient building. From a crack in the wall, a mist appears. The mist takes the shape of Otakura, then possesses Hotaru's body, vowing to seek revenge on those who disturbed her. She attacks Naruru and Ruruna, but Makoto, as "Tubby Kamen" saves the young girls. She was then exorcised from Hotaru's body by Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi Moon using Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss. She appeared in volume 17 in ChibiUsa's Picture Diary #4. Otakura's name is a pun, combining the words "otaku" (meaning "geek") and "kura" (meaning storehouse).
