EPISODE 031 - BAKENE

Bakene appeared in episode 031. He was one of the Seven Great Youma of the Dark Kingdom who were loyal to Queen Beryl during the Silver Millennium and participated in her invasion of the Moon Kingdom. Ultimately, Queen Serenity imprisoned them in seven separate shards of the Ginzuishou, known as the Nijizuishou (Rainbow Crystals) because each one was a different color of the rainbow. In the present day, they were reincarnated into seven individuals (six humans and one cat) with no memory of their existence as youma. Bakene was sealed within the purple Nijizuishou, and was reincarnated as Rhett Butler, a very fat blue cat. Zoisite used his Kurozuishou to locate the Nijizuishou, and he initially thought that it was within Rhett Butler's owner, An Ohara. After attacking An, he figured out that it was within the cat. He found Rhett Butler and extracted the crystal, causing him to transform into Bakene. Although Zoisite collected the Nijizuishou from him, Tuxedo Kamen soon arrived and snatched it away from him. Xoisite told Bakene to finish off Luna and Sailor Mars, who were on the scene, but the youma turned and headed towards town instead. Luna ran in front of him, asking him to stop and telling him that she would get him back to the way he was very soon. She slipped and fell, but Bakene suddenly caught her in his extremely large paw. She saw that he still had a wound on his leg from earlier, when he tried to save her, and promised that Usagi would help him revert back to being a cat. Sailor Mercury soon appeared and used Sabão Spray to fill the area with bubbles. Sailor Jupiter then leapt through the air and grabbed Luna from Bakene's arms. Sailor Moon quickly used Moon Healing Escalation to cause Bakene to transform back into Rhett Butler.

Rhett Butler's seiyuu was Masahiro Anzai.
