Chaos is the evil force that is responsible for all of the bad things that happen in the universe, threatening to take over the universe and infect pure hearts. Long ago, Galaxia fought against Chaos, but she realized that in order for peace to exist, she must seal Chaos within her own body, feeling that she was the only one powerful enough to contain it. Chaos was too strong, and eventually began to take over Galaxia's mind and body. When Sailor Moon confronts Galaxia, Chaos grows even stronger, increasing Galaxia's powers. Sailor Moon eventually manages to find the goodness within Galaxia, and help her destroy Chaos.

click for larger version Chaos is the evil entity, neither male nor female, that merges with the Galaxy Cauldron. It was born like all others, but it "missed becoming a star." It is the ruler of the Stars of the Cauldron, and is now the strongest star in the galaxy. It wanted more power, and it corrupted Galaxia, working together with her for more power. In the distant future, it becomes Sailor Chaos and defeats Sailor Cosmos, who returns to the past as ChibiChibi. In the present, it reveals that Queen Metallia, the Death Phantom, Master Pharaoh90, and Nehellenia/Zirconia - the major villains from each arc of the manga - were alternate forms of Chaos. Its desire is to be free of the Cauldron and rule the entire universe, and it wants to use Sailor Moon's power in order to do so. Eternal Sailor Moon jumps into the Galaxy Cauldron and calls upon the Sailor Crystals to help her destroy Chaos. It is not destroyed, but it and its various forms become too small within the Cauldron to be found. Later, Guardian Cosmos, tells Usagi that it is possible for Chaos to be reborn once more.
