click for larger version Although Chiral and Achiral play a much larger role in the manga, they are simply droids ("Monsters-of-the-day") in the anime, and appear only in episode 81. They are summoned by Esmeraude to attack Negative Points in order to open the Dark Gate. Chiral is to corrupt Juuban Elementary School, while his brother Achiral is to corrupt Juuban Park. Sailor Moon arrives on the scene, and is quickly confronted by Chiral. Achiral joins his twin, and is prevented from harming young ChibiUsa due to Sailor Mercury's Sabao Spray attack. Achiral click for larger version creates his own diversion by sending the possessed Momoko Momohara after the senshi, and Chiral takes the opportunity to disappear and reappear behind Sailor Jupiter, taking her by surprise. ChibiUsa uses her own energy to release Momoko from the droids' control, and blasts the droids. Sailor Moon, Sailor Mars, and Sailor Jupiter run into the schoolyard after Achiral and Chiral, who try to ambush the girls from behind. They are prevented from doing so by Tuxedo Mask. They then attempt to escape by phasing through the ground, but Sailor Jupiter stuns them with her "Sparkling Wide Pressure" attack long enough for Sailor Moon to destroy them with "Moon Princess Halation." Chiral has lighter hair and skin, while Achiral has darker hair and skin. Chiral wears a darker shirt, and Achiral wears a lighter shirt.



MANGA


click for larger version Chiral and Achiral call themselves the Boule Brothers. They appear in Volume 05, Act 18 of the manga, as the twin servants of Esmeraude. At Esmeraude's bidding, they lend their services to Prince Demand in what they called "Code: 005, Operation: Remake." Their goal is to create a chemical reaction and take Sailor Moon. When the senshi arrive in Crystal Tokyo, the brothers lure them to a false crystal palace and trap them within it. Sailor Moon tries to break free with "Moon Princess Halation," but Achiral informs her that there is a magnetic field in place to prevent her from using her powers. Tuxedo Kamen manages to break throught their false crystal imprisonment, and the brothers are destroyed with Sailor Venus's "Venus Love Me Chain" and Tuxedo Mask's "Tuxedo La Smoking Bomber." In the Materials Collection, Naoko Takeuchi writes that the Boule Brothers are "Optical Isomers. Twins like Mirror Reflectons." Chiral has lighter skin, while Achiral has darker skin.
