Reika Nishimura is the girlfriend (and later, fiance) of Motoki Furuhata. She is a college student at Azabu Technical College, and she is extremely serious about her studies. Reika's seiyuu was Rica Fukami, who also did the voice of Sailor Venus.

First Season: Reika first appeared in episode 029. She was carefully considering a decision on whether or not to go to Africa to continue her research on where life began on Earth. She could not decide whether she should go or stay to be near her boyfriend. For his part, Motoki wanted her to stay close by, but he did not want to restrict her future. In this episode, Reika was revealed to be the carrier of the blue Nijizuishou. Zoisite attacked her and Motoki, and was able to extract the Nijizuishou from her, causing her to transform into the youma Rikokeida. Fortunately, Sailor Moon was ultimately able to heal Rikokeida with Moon Healing Escalation, and she was returned to her human form as Reika. At the end of the episode, Reika decided to accept the offer to study in Africa. She got on her plane headed for Nairobi, but not before telling Motoki that she would write to him every day. He promised to always wait for her. In episode 041, Reika made a very brief second appearance in the beginning of the episode. Endymion, who had been brainwashed and was working with the Dark Kingdom, was attempting to capture all seven former Nijizuishou carriers and trap them within the Kurozuishou. The Dark Kingdom hoped that although the former youma had been healed by Sailor Moon, they would be able to use their energy and the power of the Kurozuishou to transform them back into youma. After they were reunited, it was hoped that they would come together to form one extremely powerful youma to destroy the Sailor Senshi. Endymion was able to track down Reika in Africa and capture her within the crystal. Endymion was able to capture six of the seven former Nijizuishou carriers within the Kurozuishou before Sailor Mercury destroyed it. Once it was destroyed, those trapped inside were freed.

Episode 129: Reika was not seen again (she had presumably continued her studies in Africa during this time) until epsisode 129, where she appeared riding a horse. She had been accepted to a college in Europe, but it would be for ten years. She was once again unsure of whether or not to leave Motoki. Motoki was very understanding, and supported her dreams. He told her to go if she wanted, because he would love her no matter the distance. She decided to go. In the same episode, she was attacked by Tiger's Eye for her Dream Mirror, but he found nothing. She was later revived.

MANGA

In the manga, Reika is also the girlfriend of Motoki Furuhata. She is introduced in Act 11, Volme 03. She loves geology, rocks, and minerals. She knows a lot about gemstones, and talks about the gems Nephrite, Jadeite, Kunzite, and Zoisite. She appears again later in Act 27, Volume 08 at KO University, where she attends school. Motoki goes to meet her there, and she introduces him to Setsuna Meioh, who is a new freshman at the school studying physics. Reika comments to Motoki that Setsuna is one of the prettiest and smartest girls at the university.
