After the Dark Kingdom learned Tuxedo Kamen's true identity, Zoisite asked Mamoru to meet him at the Starlight Tower to settle the matter of the Nijizuishou "fair and square." At the time, Mamoru had two of the seven Nijizuishou, while the Dark Kingdom had five. Usagi secretly followed Mamoru to the tower, concerned because he was injured. When they arrived, Zoisite transported them both inside. Mamoru begged that Usagi be left alone, but Zoisite demanded that he place his Nijizuishou on the ground with Zoisite's. He did as he was asked, but Kunzite appeared and collected all of the Nijizuishou for the Dark Kingdom before disappearing again. Zoisite quickly disappeared as well, filling the room with dangerous icicles which fell from the ceiling onto the Usagi and Mamoru. As they ran for a nearby elevator, Zoisite told Mamoru that if he wanted to get the retrieve the Nijizuishou, he should go to the obervation deck at the top of the building.

Mamoru and Usagi reached the elevator just as the floor in the room crumbled away. As the elevetor rose to the top of the building, he told her why he was seeking the Nijizuishou. He said that when he was six years old, his parents were killed in a car accident. He miraculously survived the accident, but had no memory of anything that happened before. Shortly after, he began having a recurring dream in which a princess told him to seek he Ginzuishou. Meanwhile, the other four Sailor Senshi arrived at the tower and blasted their way in.

His plan was ruined, however, when Usagi transformed into Sailor Moon - and gave away her identity to Mamoru in the process. She rescued Mamoru, who quickly transformed into Tuxedo Kamen in an attempt to protect her from the Dark Kingdom. Zoisite then produced a large crystal shard which he intended to hit Sailor Moon, but Tuxedo Kamen leapt in front of it just in time, becoming severely wounded. The four other Senshi rushed in just in time to see Sailor Moon holding him in her arms. She began to cry, and the seven Nijizuishou floated to her, joining together to form the Ginzuishou in her tear. The Ginzuishou then joined with the Moon Stick, and Sailor Moon transformed into the Moon Princess.

In episode 035, the Senshi were still trapped within the tower. Kunzite and Zoisite disappeared with Tuxedo Kamen, and the Senshi were unable to find the exit. Sailor Mercury used her visor and computer to determine that the tower was no longer occupying normal dimensional space. She said, "This dimension is apparently an imaginary space that's been sealed off. In short, theoretically, the real dimension we were in is not directly connected to the three-dimensional space here. Instead, they should be connected only in two-dimensional space with the positive and negative phases reversed and passing through zero-dimensional space." Fortunately, she soon found an exit.

As the Senshi approached the exit, Kunzite soon appeared, vowing revenge for Zoisite's death. During a brief battle in which all of the Senshi except for Sailor Moon were severely injured, Sailor Moon used the power of the Ginzuishou to deflect Kunzite's attacks. He ultimately had no choice but to withdraw, and when he disappeared, Starlight Tower itself crumbled.
