click for larger version Inaka-hama is the beach that Usagi, Ami, Rei, and Luna visit in episode 020. The name of this place appears on a sign on the train station at which the girls arrive. The European-style hotel Pension Adams is located at Inaka-hama, and Rei has booked rooms for the girls there. The girls meet Sakiko and her father in the hotel.

Inaka-hama roughly translates to "rural beach" or "countryside beach." There is a real beach in Japan called Inaka-hama which is located on Yakushima island in the Kagoshima Prefecture. This beach is famous for how often sea turtles lay their eggs in the sand there. The real Inaka-hama is probably unrelated to the Inaka-hama in Sailor Moon, however: In Sailor Moon, the train's destination appears to be the Kagawa Prefecture, which is on an entirely different island (Shikoku island). Both the real and fictional beaches seem to be popular tourist destinations.
