Gym Shapely

Episode of Appearance: 004 - Usagi will teach you! The way to get slim

Gym Shapely is the name of the gym in episode 004. Determined to lose weight, Usagi, Naru, and two of their classmates visit the gym because Umino has told them that Haruna-sensei lost a lot of weight by going there. When they arrive, they see a large video screen with the idol Rie Gotou saying, "One kilogram a day, five kilograms in two days! If you go for three days, you, too, will be beautiful! Come on everyone, time to shape up! Right now at Gym Shapely, we're having free introductory memberships!" The four girls immediately rush inside to take advantage of the free memberships. They get dressed in their workout clothes and are greeted by Jadeite, dressed as a cute fitness instructor. After working out, Jadeite takes Naru and the two classmates to the Shape Rays, which he says will help them lose a lot of weight. In reality, they drain the girls of their energy, which is then collected by Jadeite for Queen Beryl. Eventually, Sailor Moon stops the energy-draining plot at Gym Shapely, much to the dismay of Jadeite and Queen Beryl.



Appearance


click for larger version Gym Shapely is a large, angular building with several stories. The exterior is white and yellow. There are several windows all over the building, and it appears to have rounded skylights on the roof. Two sliding glass doors provide the entrance. Above the door, there is a very large video screen featuring the idol Rie Gotou working out in front of a blue screen with yellow polka dots. click for larger version Inside, there are several different rooms. In one room that is not shown, Usagi and her friends are allowed to change into their work out clothes. The walls of most of the rooms appear to be white, and most rooms have yellow tile floors. The main work out area has a great deal of equipment for patrons to use. There is also a "bubble bath" room where Usagi goes to relax after working out. The room itself is not shown, but Usagi is shown in a pink bathtub. click for larger version Jadeite keeps the Shape Rays downstairs in a dark room with tile floors. The only light seems to come from the Shape Rays themselves. The Shape Rays are large greenish-blue pods in the center of the room which victims stand in when having their energy stolen. The energy is then directed into a large glowing orb near the ceiling.
