The communication device is a small, flat, computer-like object that is used by the senshi in the first season in order to communicate with each other. This item first appears in episode 017. Luna attempts to give the communication device to Usagi (having already given them to Rei and Ami), but Usagi is distracted by a magazine advertisement. The first time the device is actually used, Usagi decides to contact Ami and tell her that she's going to be a model (based on the advertisement she was looking at). She does so, but Ami scolds her for using the device in such a way. Ami "hangs up," so Usagi decides to contact Rei... until she realizes that Rei will probably just scold her, too.

MANGA

In the manga, the senshi wear wristwatch-type communication devices which allow them to speak with each other. Two sets appeared throughout the series. The first set appeared in Act 03, Volume 01, and came directly from the Sailor V game. The second set were given to them after ChibiUsa's appearance.

In Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, the senshi use regular cell phones as communication devices. These are known as "TeletiaS" and first appear in Act 01. The senshi could also use these cell phones to disguise themselves. By taking a picture of any person, the senshi could disguise themselves to look exactly like that person. For easier use, the picture taken could be used right away or later.
