The comet has not appeared in fifteen years, but according to the calculations of Ami Mizuno and Kou Taiki, it should appear at 9:15 on the second night of the episode in the Southern sky, almost crossing over Katarus, and that they will see it for ten minutes. It rains on the night in question, making it impossible for the comet to be seen. Fortunately, the sky clears up, and Ami, Usagi, Minako, Makoto, Rei, and Taiki are able to see the come through a telescope at the home of Professor Amanogawa. Wataru Amanogawa often refers to the comet as "Francois."

In the anime, their mission is to collect Pure Hearts for Pharaoh 90. They often target famous people or people who show exceptional talent in an area, as they believed this was a manifestation of the Pure Heart. In order to collect Pure Hearts, they use daimons which were created by Professor Tomoe. Another part of their mission was to locate the three Talismans. They were located within the Heart Crystals of Sailor Neptune, Sailor Uranus, and Sailor Pluto. Eudial retrieved them, but the senshi managed to regain them. In the manga, there are no Pure Hearts, and the Talismans have already appeared. The mission in the manga is to collect the energy or souls of humans. They must also prevent the three Talismans from coming together, because when they come together, the Holy Grail appears, and the Holy Grail is the only thing that can stop them. Each witch is given a level, and they must try to capture the senshi in order to achieve a higher standing.

Witches' Electric Warp -- a device of Eudial's own invention that is capable of converting humans into sentient energy. Mimete uses this machine in episode 120 (after Eudial's death) in order to become more powerful, but Tellu pulls the plug, thus killing Mimete.
